Amber

Seizure Alert Dog Amber relaxing in her ID Cape dog vest.
This is Jim Miller's 2½ year old Golden Retriever, Amber. Jim describes her as "Very intelligent, motivated, curious, helpful, playful, a quick learner, and of course pretty." She sounds like the perfect working companion!

Amber is a Service Dog trained specifically for persons with seizure disorders. A Seizure Alert Dog notifies someone when a seizure is pending, sometimes as far as 30 minutes in advance. That person can get to a safer place, sit down, notify a bystander, and prepare for an oncoming attack. The dog can either standby or go get help if necessary. Amber’s ID Cape and patch inform the public about her important job.

Bearette

Julie Wood's talented Schipperke Bearette is a Search and Rescue Dog in training. For identification in the field, she uses a red ID Cape dog vest with a special SAR patch. Julie and her husband love this breed so much that they are considering training their new Schipperke puppy Hawk to accompany Bearette on search assignments.

Takeo and Tiki

The red sesame female is the partner of Carolyn. They both wear orange ID Cape dog vests in XSmall, and have one of our "Please Don't Pet Me" working dog patches sewn onto the top center of their capes.

Czar

Creese Syred's German Shepherd dog Czar lives and works in Australia. He is a trainee Search And Rescue dog. Czar is wearing his ID Cape dog vest which he uses while training. Creese has written "IF LOST OR FOUND PLEASE OPEN" above the pocket. The pocket holds a card that reads: "If you find this dog, please don't be scared. Give him some fresh water and call [his phone number or vet's number]. He is a member of the German Shepherd Dog League Australia, and N.S.W. Tracking & Rescue Dog Club."

Montana

Mobility Dog Montana working in her ID Cape dog vest and working dog patch
Susan Molloy's Montana assists with mobility difficulties. The White Mountain Independent newspaper included this photograph with their story about two women and their Service Dogs. Both dogs went from an animal shelter into a new and full life of service. Montana is wearing her ID Cape dog vest and one of our working dog patches (an old design we no longer carry).

Susan wrote the following note about Montana’s gear: We sure do like the ID Capes you guys made for us and Montana does too. When I take it out of her travel bag she gets excited because she knows it means she's getting ready for work.
